Dear Roberto,
While the Kingdom is gearing up for the queen Jubilee, I am enjoying my first week of complete freedom in what feels like forever. As luck would have it, it was also the first week of sunshine since last August over here so I have been busy doing nothing and haven’t had time to write you anything.
I saw your new paintings of Florida… While you are enjoying the sunny state, I’ll be at the Summer Ball, the yearly extravaganza organised by my university for its graduating students to celebrate. It should have bumpy cars and a ferris wheel, I am beyond exited.
Love,
Elise.
Ciao Roberto,
Today is Lucie’s birthday and I MADE THAT (if you can’t tell by the online screaming, I’m particularly excited). She asked for “the same [cake] as Rémy but with more raspberries”. Hopefully, it’s be good.
Love,
Elise.
Dear Roberto,
I am now forever done with my orals and have just a week until the first of my five written exams. In the mean time, I went to London to vote in the french presidential elections… The photo was taken while in the queue on Sunday morning. My brother, my dad and I woke up at 6:20 in the hopes that there would be less of a queue.
Love,
Elise.
PS: I hope you are well, not too busy…
Sorry for not posting very much, my exams are starting on Monday so I’m pretty stressed out and busy. Plus it’s been a pretty crazy time to begin with.
I hope everything is going well on your side of the ocean.
Miss you, and Siena.
Dear Roberto,
I took these photos while on my holiday. There was a man making giant bubbles using a string and two wooden sticks. A pack of kids were just waiting around to pop them as soon as they were made. I don’t like kids most of the times but I thought that was adorable. I remember loving making bubbles and popping them as a child. Plus it’s nice to see children playing like children outside and enjoying themselves despite the rather bitter cold.
Love,
Elise.
PS: I got your postcard from Florida. I’m so jealous (though not of the driving down, I can’t imagine how long that took). Here it’s been pouring since I’ve been back. If March was nice, April has been miserable…
Dear Roberto,
My plans for this Easter don’t involve anything quite as warm or sunny as Florida. It has been rather cold and grey since I arrived with my parents and one of my sisters. The other one is at university, working and my brother didn’t want to spend anymore time than he had to with his dear parents. I couldn’t say no to the rather exciting perspective of free food and board away from home… Can you guess were I am from the photo?
I can’t believe you made a book of your watercolours, the church that’s “near my house” almost had me in tears. Italy was sometimes tiring and foreign but some things I can’t help but miss the church and “our” park for example.
Love,
Elise.
Dear Roberto,
I don’t know about you, but I am now in my Easter Holiday!! I saw these in the supermarket; I thought they were appropriate for the occasion and they reminded me of that lovely day out we took last year. The sun was shining then; alas, today after almost a week of gloriously sunny skies, the clouds and rain are back.
Happy Easter anyways,
Baci,
Elise.
Hello,
Check these out!! They were my first strawberries of the season (emphasis on the were, sadly). Not quite as good as they’ll be in a month or two but I was in serious withdrawal…
Love,
Elise.
Dear Roberto,
The party was a lot of fun. The weather on this side of the Atlantic as been gorgeous for the past few days and we spend our afternoon enjoying the sunshine in the garden, playing twister, various card games, making soap bubles drinking tea and bubbly pear something…
We’d also hung balloons from a tree and I’d created a teapot out of a cardboard box and some coloured paper. And we had all the cupcakes I’d made, 102 in total and two tarts made by one of the guys living upstairs.
Love,
Elise.
Coucou Roberto,
I went a bit mad on the balloons, we’re having an Alice in Wonderland party in our garden on Saturday. I’m also making a cardboard teapot and a ridiculous amount of cupcakes.
I can’t wait to see the photos you take with your Mamiya, I love medium format photography. Sadly, I do need to get my camera checked in a specialist shop which is the next town over so I’ll get there when I have time. I’m glad your show went well.
Love,
Elise.
PS: I’m glad you like the photos, it’s great fun to shoot those because they are rather quick to do and I feel like the result of this one and the camera one were quite good.
